Starday is a routine and reward app for families, made by gosu.team ("we", "our", "us"). This policy explains exactly what the app stores, why, and how to get rid of it. It covers the Starday iPhone app, the Starday Android app and the Starday web app.
A family in Starday is identified by a 6-character family code, not by a person. Under that code we store:
If you buy a subscription, our payments provider also records that a purchase happened and its renewal status, linked to the family code.
To be unambiguous, Starday does not collect or receive:
There is no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no third-party tracker in any version of the app.
Starday is built to be used by children, with a parent or guardian setting it up and controlling it behind a passcode.
If you believe a child has given us information we should not hold, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
We use the data above for one purpose only: to make the app work — to show your family's board, keep devices in sync, award and deduct points, and unlock Pro features for subscribers.
We do not use it to advertise, to profile you, to train models, or to build any picture of you beyond the app itself.
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:
That is the complete list. We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone else, and we do not share it for advertising.
Family data is stored in Google Firebase in the European Union
(europe-west1). All traffic between the app and our services is encrypted in
transit with HTTPS/TLS.
Please read this one. The family code is what links devices to a family, and it works like a shared key: anyone who has your family code can see and change that family's board.
Treat it like a password. Share it only with people you want to have access — your own household — and do not post it publicly. If a code is shared more widely than you intended, the safest fix is to delete the profiles and set up a fresh family, which gives you a new code.
The 4-digit parental passcode is a gate on the app's interface to keep children out of the parent area. It is not a security boundary against an adult who already has the family code.
We keep a family's data for as long as the family exists. There is no inactivity expiry, so nothing is deleted behind your back.
You can delete it whenever you like:
Full instructions are on our Delete your Starday data page.
Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before those roll over. Records of purchases are kept by our payment providers for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the data we hold, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
Because Starday has no accounts, the quickest route for all of these is to email [email protected] with your family code. We answer within 30 days.
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
