Delete your Starday data

Starday is made by gosu.team. This page explains how to delete a child's profile and the family data stored with it, what gets removed, and what we keep.

Starday has no usernames, passwords or email sign-up. A family is identified by a 6-character family code shown in the app under Parents → Family. You will need that code if you ask us to delete a family for you.

Delete a child profile from inside the app

This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.

  1. Open Starday and tap Parents (top right).
  2. Enter your 4-digit parental passcode.
  3. Go to the Family tab.
  4. Find the child you want to remove and tap the delete (bin) button.
  5. Confirm Yes, Delete.

That permanently removes the child's record from our database, including their name, avatar, tasks, rewards, claimed rewards, points and mood history. It cannot be undone.

Note that Reset All Data in Settings clears the content on the device and in the family, but keeps the child profile itself. Use the Family tab steps above if you want the profile gone.

Ask us to delete a whole family

If you want the entire family record removed — including the family code itself and any remaining profiles — or you no longer have the app installed, email us and we will do it for you.

Email: [email protected] Subject: Delete my Starday data Include: your 6-character family code (for example, 38HSJR)

We only need the family code. Please do not send us any other personal details. We will confirm by reply once the data is deleted.

Requests are actioned within 30 days, and normally within a few working days.

What is deleted

Everything we hold for that family or child:

  • the child's name and chosen avatar
  • tasks, task templates and inbox items
  • rewards, claimed rewards and points balance
  • daily mood entries
  • the parental passcode (stored only as a non-reversible hash)
  • the family code and its anonymous device identifiers

What is kept, and for how long

  • Purchase records. If you bought a Starday subscription, our payments provider (RevenueCat) and the app store that processed the payment keep a record of the transaction. We cannot delete these, because tax and accounting law requires them to be retained. They contain the purchase itself, not your child's activity.
  • Backups. Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before those backups roll over, after which it is gone.

Cancelling a subscription

Deleting your data does not cancel a paid subscription. Cancel it in the store you bought it from:

  • Google Play: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Starday → Cancel
  • Apple App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Starday → Cancel
  • Bought on the web: use the Manage Subscription link in Parents → Settings
